Grouse Heads

I had a question about what folks think is the best killing head for those CO blue grouse. I've used Zwickey Judos successfully in the past and they literally decapitate the bird with a head shot. But I'm curious about what other use esp if a body shot is made.

I have a few small game heads and am leaning toward either a Judo Kondor or Rubber Blunt which match up with my broadhead weight nicely. I have a few ACE Hex heads but not at the right weight, about 50 gr too light. I've read where others will use dulled broadheads, but I worry about pulling out the wrong broadhead on an elk and would be violating my KISS rule.

Appreciate your thoughts on this, leaving in about 5 days for CO.

I have used judos, blunts, and sometimes broadheads. I've also had a few grouse fly off with my judo arrows. Blunts and broadheads have usually done the trick. They are tasty little devils.

I like to use an old, dull broad head with a "stopper" added behind head.

I've shot a few with a field point with a washer under it.

I've killed a pile of blues with regular steel blunts, but have come to prefer a broadhead with a stopper like Todd does.
Blues being one of the bigger grouse can be tough to kill.
A Woodsman broadhead file sharpened after shooting works great and takes beating.

Roughed Grouse are smaller and more fragile. Rubber blunts work well on them.

Sage Grouse are the B-52's of the grouse clan and only a broadhead will do for them.
