XX75 Yucon Questions
« on: August 31, 2009, 04:33:00 AM »
A fellow Tradganger has kindly offered to sell me some 2216 XX75 Gamegetter III shafts. They have the uni bushing. When I was a kid the Gamegetters were a very different shaft than the XX75. These are Gamegetter XX75. Questions:

-Are they the same alloy as the regular XX75?
-Can I use a regular 5/16 glue on nock like I can with the other XX75 shafts I have recently aquired? Never dealt with a "uni bushing" before.
I have made the move back to aluminum after many years away.
Thanks for your help guys.

The shaft is the Yukon--you have to use uni nocks unless you pull the bushing, add a nock insert. XX75s are tougher than Gamegatters.

That is where Im confused Huntryx....The shafts show XX75 Gamegetter. If I have to pull a bushing to be able to use a regular nock I don't think I will be interested in doing that.

If they say XX75 they are the same alloy,I think I have seen them, they are like an autumn orange color. Those old green gamgetters were different shafts, the anodized finish would wear off making the front end silver. If you pull out the uni-bushing I would check first to see if you can find nock adapters for use of glue-on nocks for your size of shaft.I like the uni-bushing system. It makes nock replacement easy and tunable, you can rotate the nock for the best fletching clearence. My favorite nock for them is Easton 3D Super nocks, they have the largest and deepest throat of those types of nocks. And fit my strings just great.

Agree with that--the Easton nocks are best and the ability to tune the nocks is a real plus--also, you can use lighted nocks with these shafts if you want to. The only better aluminum shaft is the XX78 Super slam and the available sizes for those are limited-- they are also uninock system.
