preparing snake skins

What do you do with a snake's skin to prepare it to put on a bow? I was out walking in the woods and saw a little snake but didn't have my bow with me. This got me to thinging what to do with the skin next time I'm out walking and happen upon another one and have my bow and am lucky enough to hit it. After skinning what then? Just air dry it or is there something else that would need to be done?

If it ain't poisonous, I would let em go. But if ya do have ta kill em, they taste just like chicken,
only more bones. I stretch em out on a board with a staple gun to dry a few days.

What Dano said.

The old order is passing. Swiftly receding into memory are the days of strong, earnest men who followed an atavistic yearning to pit their skills against wild animals.
