Old Dog and His New Trick's
« on: April 01, 2007, 08:37:00 PM »
Got a call this morning, got invited to go shooting.
Up the clubhouse I go with my 4 year old and my 54 year old shooting buddies. Had a great time trying to get my son how to figure out shooting a bow. We started with the basics"How to hold your bow".......   :knothead:    WHY   would I ever go shooting with two hearing challenged archers    :banghead:   (HW and my son)   I got a couple of pic's I'd like to share  HW and his newly finished reverse handle bow. His first Laminated Bow made by himself. Good shooter and Nice looking   (The bow that is, he's a good shooter but, ..... well you know)

Thanks for the great day boys I had fun.

That looks and sounds like a great day! That son of yours draws that bow back just fine. Looks like your weather was better than ours today!

                 Thanks for sharing your day.

Was a lot of fun. Part way through the day the little guy went south paw on me     . That was ok he shot maybe even better but, one of the times he forgot which hand was doing the holding and which was doing the letting go.   :readit:

I happy to say he wasn't at full draw when he released his left hand (which was holding the bow) and held his right firm. The boy is fine    :knothead:   . OUCH

Many thanks for the kind words and pics of the new bow. As always, I enjoyed being out with you and yours - only one of the 5 left to introduce to archery.

Sure am pleased that there was no damage down when Joe used his "alternate release".

Even my ears picked up that hollow "thump" when his bow limb hit yer noggin. Again, thanks to you and Joe for a great day !!!
