Where to get string material?

I want to make my own strings. Where do you guys get your material from?
Is there a place to get BCY fivers? 3 Rivers and Kustom King and Cabelas only have Brownells...and then usually only TS-1 Plus, "flastflight", or Dacron.
Also, I know different diameter and weights make this hard to answer but I figure I need 50-60' of material for each of my strings...so roughly how many strings does a ~$35 roll make?

Good call Ishi. I've got the Lost Nation catalog in front of me and it shows B-500, BCY, Dynaflight 97. Nylon and Halo serving material.

I get my BCY materials from Chad at recurves.com.

You can order direct from the bcyfibers, just give them a call. I have in the past and they only charged me actually shipping even for small orders.

Like Lefty said, you can order direct. You will get the maximum choices that way, and they are good to deal with.

Soilarch, Hello, like said, you can order direct, and they do sell 1/8 lb spools. You might also ask, someone might have some leftover to try. Possible trade?
I just finished doing 30 strings for 58" recurve, f.f. 18 strand, black and red ,1/4 lb spools. 12 strands of black, 6 of red. No black left, but enough red to probably do about 12 more strings. I hate 3 ply strings!
Hope this helps! If you have any questions about strings, pm me. Good shootin Steve

Thank you guys. Dang....30 12-strand strings for a 58" is better than I hoped for.

BCY asked me to keep my dealer orders to a minimum of.....around $100, I think. No problem when I'm ordering for myself, but most folks don't care to order all that much. I don't mind ordering for folks if you meet the minimum, but you can order it just as easily yourself from
www.bcyfibers.com
.
I kept up with how many strings I got once when making a bunch for A&H. 12 strand strings, from 59" to 63", I got 80 strings from a 1# spool of Dynaflight '97 (padded the loops with dacron). The same color (black) was used for both bundles.

BCY will accept orders of $25.00 minimum. They are good people to deal with, and the choice of color is excellent. I only use B500 but they stock all the fancy FF materials too.

I figured they had a minimum for retail orders, just didn't know how much. I was referring to dealer orders.
