Brace height question
«

I'm shooting 55# Bear Grizzly 58"amo. I am trying to tune it to my arrows and was wondering if anybody new the factory recommended brace height. I want to use it as a starting point, knowing it will probably change. Also from what point do you measure it. The closes point on the belly, the deepest part of the throat or the back of the bow.
thanks for all help.

Most are around 8-8.5" measured from the deepest part of the grip to the string. Some I think shoot them as low as 7 3/4" but I bet it might get a little loud that low, lots of string slap on the limbs. Just play with it at both ends of the spectrum and see how she shoots and sounds.

7.5 inch to 8.5 inch seems to fit most of the modern recurves. I put on a new string amo and give it about 4 twists and then measure the brace height, shoot a few arrows and see if it still has a lot of noise. If it does I try to find that magic spot and again puit another 4 twists in the streing and shoot it again. I find with my checkmate bows it always seems to be on the higher brace height side. But you klnow it when you find it..
