Let's hear this weekend's stories of squirrel/deer hunting gone wrong!  I was there for some of it and neither of us scored, so to speak. So....let's hear the parts I missed!

I got a quick one. Im all kicked back leaning on this log. I say, shhh Miranda did you hear that? She says probably a chip-monk dad. When I heard it again it was a huge fox squeril on a stump 10ft from us. You can guess how that ended.

Hah!!!  I went out Sat morning and told myself I was only gonna shoot if Bullwinkle himself showed up.

See...I had this family picnic where all we do is shoot guns and ride 4 wheelers all day.  I really wanted to go to that and see all my cousins, most of whom I see only at this same picnic every year.  So I could hunt till about 10 am then I had to scoot and make the picnic.  So at 8:30 am a fat doe with 2 youngins walks up to me and offers me about a 4 yard broadside shot all the while looking the OTHER WAY!!!!.  But I just left my bow hanging on a limb.  Then at 8:40 am, a lone doe walks up, stands in the footprints of the first one.  She stood there feeding,  front leg extended forward, looking THE OTHER WAY!!!!!!!  Meanwhile I let the bow stay on the limb cause I know if I pick it up I'm gonna shoot this ole gal and be not make the picnic.

So I made the picnic and now I probably won't have a deer that close to me again all year......

Fill the freezer!  Then have fun. Or have fun filling the freezer.  Hope you had fun at the picnic.
