Dryad Oracle

Would like to know how these bows shoot and are they well made? I have been looking at them on there web site. Looking into getting a new longbow. Thank you for any info, John

I picked up a used 56" Orion Static Tip recurve in a trade Honduran Rosewood riser 2 sets of limbs 45 #s @ 28 and 54#s @ 28.Boo cores and black glass .  Very well made bow. The riser fits my hand like a glove maybe a little better than my Horne's Traditionalist. Constant hand placement every time.Very accurate hits where your looking . Quiet and Fast. After hunting season I figure on getting a set of longbow limbs for her. Great for ground and blind hunting. Very happy with this little bow. I had my eye on the Osage Riser and maple cores with black glass Oracle for months. This bow came up in a trade and I jumped on it. Otherwise I would have bought the Oracle off  the in stock bow list.

I've never had the chance to shoot one, but I looked them over pretty closely at Compton a couple of years ago and I don't think you will see any better craftsmanship anywhere. If they shoot as good as they look, you will very pleased! Mike

I had one.  Fast, quiet and all that good stuff.  The grip is a little high for me.  Otherwise great bow great folks to deal with.

I too had one, in stock bow, so wasn't built for me, looked good, was fast, but grip too high & feather cut my hand pretty bad, didn't give it much time as I didn't want to abuse the 3 day trial period, but I don't like high grips at all, no matter who builds it ...

Can't say about the Oracle haven't shot that one yet, but I sure love my Orion. I've never met a bowyer I didn't like, but Mike and Jason can cook too, and they are kinda handy to have in camp.

I have two of them.  The static recurve makes the bow pretty forgiving of wooden arrow spine.  I had Jason and Mike make the riser of the heaviest wood they had in stock and I had them make the riser as stiff as possible.  I shoot my bows from a 3/8" string walking crawl and not with my finger in contact with the arrow.  

The grip is my favorite on any wooden bow I have shoot.

My other Orion is at the bottom of the page.  Jason and Mike went the extra mile for me.  they put sight bosses and a stabilizer boss on the bow for me.  the bow shoots like a laser.  with or withot the sight.  again mike and jason strengthened the riser for my goofy style.

shooting barebow with the orion on the first url I am only about 15 points off my personal best on a 300 indoor target.  PB was shoot with a FITA barebow.

pretty hard to beat the orion bows.  I have put them thru their paces with a shooting style that is very tuff on wooden risers and demands all the stability ya can get out of a bow.

the bow is stable (and I put the stability of limbs to the ultimate test).  The riser is rock solid.  ergonomics of the riser fit me to "Tee".

Just saw this thread and read through. Thought I'd better let you know that after getting input on the grip/arrow distance, we have lowered the grip a little to prevent the fletching contact with your hand.  Shoots the same but gives just a little more clearance.
