I have a 40# @ 28" recurve and I shoot Gold Tip 600 Ultralights full length with 75 grain points. It really zips them out there for targets, about 195 fps. Bareshafts perfectly. Would want something heavier than that if I were hunting something other than squirrels and rabbits with it, though.

In aluminum, I think 1816's or possibly 1916's would work. I'm not sure about the point, maybe the 75 grain point would work. Maybe 100 grain points. Get a few of each and see which point flies better.

How about cedar? 45-50# spine and 125 gr points. Very tradional and old timey.

A good 45 - 50# spine POC set of shafts with nice Hardwood Footings on the front lead by a 125 grain point would fly great! WOOD is still alive and well.
