UV and Deer

My grandkids bought me one of those UV Killer kits for my birthday. It came with the UV light, and last night after dark I started goofing around with it. I was really surprised at how much of my camo glowed. Especially my snow and horizon camo. Then I got to thinking, and remembered how many deer had picked me off when I was wearing the camo that glowed, and how many deer that never knew I was there when I was wearing the camo that didn't glow.

  I wonder what the rest of you think? Gimmick? Or fact?

I don't know what the true science is but I have been picked off a few times where it really made me wonder.

One day,with several inches of snow on the ground,I had a doe coming by me with a nice buck following.I was on my knees,next to some brush,wearing snow camow,a white hat and gloves.

The wind was perfaect.I just needed for her to pass and all of his attention was on her.I hunched over with forearms on the ground and got as low as I could-snow everywhere.

When she got even with me at about 50',she slammed on the brakes like she had seen a neon sign,and spooked out of there.I can't for the life of me figure that one out unless there is something to the UV thing.

I'd like to here more,from people who know.

I don't know if you can get the UV reflections off of white. White just reflects everything. I have some UV killer and it didn't seem to work at all on my snow camo or the slightly off white parts of my regular Realtree AP HD camo.

I have always beleived that the fabric itself is way more important than the camo pattern printed on it.Wool and knits do not produce the harsh contrast as even the greatest camo pattern. Deer blend in so well because their coat is absolutely neutral in reflecting light.I have done some experimenting with deer, ducks and geese.Being light reflective neutral wins out over any camo pattern I have tried.
