Whisperstik Bows-The Dirty Little Secret
« on: October 07, 2009, 08:59:00 PM »
The dirty little secret is, I think many people associate JD's craftsmanship with recurves only.

Let me tell you, his 62" Voodoostik longbow is even  better than his recurves, in my opinion. And that's quite the statement.

His 62" longbow is a super bow!

I just had him make me a 62" 55@28" longbow in his premium osage and it's a top shelf longbow worthy of any other.

While not as R/D'd as many longbows today, it's quick and very quiet.

Let's put it this way, I'm still in "pre-season" mode on my backyard 3D range because my wife and I just had twin babies on September 30 (boy and a girl) and I won't be bowhunting until inlaws come for relief in a few weeks. (I know, I know, my season is screwed LOL)

But my narrowed down selections of my "go to" bow is my Thunderstick MOAB, my Toelke Whip and my new Whisperstik Voodoostik. That's how sweet this bow is. That's some darn good company as far as I'm concerned.

If you've never shot one, JD's 62"er is one great longbow if you're interested in something that isn't as R/D'd as many of the the other 62"'ers out there.

On top of it all, I defy you to find a more beautiful bow for the money.

JD's 62" longbow is a winner.

That is some amazing Osage...I even know where he got it!  :saywhat:

I have a 62" two piece coming..."Winner Winner Chicken Dinner" bow!

JD gave me a bow to test and I named it “THOR”…it’s a 62" 60@28" longbow, 192 fps with a 30.5" 571 grain arrow drawn to 29.5".  Fun bow...and faster than all my others!

I believe I shot that same 60lb'er at his house. Super quick.

I'm not aavvy enough to post pics. I think JD took some however. Hopefully he can post some.

I too have one of his long bows.Made from a previous batch of osage. I shoot his longbows better than the recurves. Very nice bows.
Did I mention I'm a recurve guy.

Recently I shot my (new to me) Voodoo longbow and was quite surprised that it outshoots a lot of my other longbows. Very quiet, fast, and smooth. I have Widows, Adcocks, etc. and this is a very  fine performer. Because of this year's hunting season, I haven't had the chance to put it through the chrono, (for you numbers people) but it's going to be up there with everyone else's. You can't be wrong if you decide to order one of these bows. Hard to beat. JD is easy to talk to. A down to Earth trad buddy.

Looks like you got the 5-8 set of veneers from above going left to right.

You should see the Osage fencerow your bow came out of...Monster tall straight Osage!

Wow what a bow!
