Developing a plan and I need some help!
« on: October 10, 2009, 02:03:00 PM »
Ok, here's my situation. After three years of applying, my buddies and I finally drew archery tags in Iowa, zone 7. As fate would have it, I took a fall on my deck last week and tore the quad muscle off my kneecap. Had surgery last week and was told recovery and rehab will be about three months. Iowa DNR has no provision for reimbursement or deferred preference points so I was about to scrub the whole idea when a thought came to mind. While an Iowa late season archery hunt would not have been my first choice, I'm thinking hunting out of a ground blind over a food plot might be do-able in late Dec/Jan. Question: do any of you guys have experience or know of a reliable outfitter in zone 7 who I might want to contact in order to salvage this three year dream of mine to hunt Iowa? Any help would be appreciated.            Thanks Flatshooter

I'm sure someone should be able to accomodate you.  If you already have an outfitter, get in touch with him. If not and you need one, I'm sure most all of them will be able to accomodate your groundblind needs.  Ya gotta go to Iowa man!  I'll be hunting there next season and while I live in Illionis, I cannot wait to experience it.
