New grip on my new ACS CX
« on: April 05, 2007, 09:29:00 PM »
Just got my new ACS CX yesterday and decided it needed a new leather grip. I formed the grip last night and laced it after work today, man does it feel sweet! A very special THANK YOU! to John Havard and Larry Hanify for being the Best of the Best!

I ain't had this much fun since the hogs ate my little brother!

Friends don't let friends sell or trade their ACS's, lol! Besides VM, if you had any idea what I had to go through with my wife to get this, you wouldn't even hint of such things, the wrath of RebeccaBear would come down on me. LMAO.

OK, OK - I'm jealous - but I ain't breathing a word of it to "Someone Special"!    :D

In case there is still "one" person left that doesn't know, "Someone Special" is my ACS - She's still my favorite bow and I love her dearly!
(I am a little worried she saw that first post    )

Nice job,I tried my hand at a leather wrap just last nite.It was my first attempt so I didn,t use my best pc of leather but I thought it came out pretty nice. The leather lace in front came out thicker than I may like but I used boot lace leather so it was expected. The wrap itself is deer leather and it,s on my hummingbird since I still don't have my ACS yet

Congrads on your new bow!!
Shoot straight and have FUN!!

So how do you determine the size and shape of the leather? Do you make a templet and transfer that to the leather?
