At least you got a shot off, this past Wed. had a doe at 15 yd waiting for her to turn side ways, wind shifted.  She probably still running.

Yesterday afternoon, I had a doe come in to the tree I was in and smelled it for 30 sec or so, as she was leaving I tried to stop her in my shootn lane to no avail.  Strangest thing I had ever seen.  I thought she came looking for me.

I figure if I play the odds, the star will align for me.

I know just how you feel. I blew a broadside shot early Sat. morning. I had a strap from my harness hanging out and caught it on my string. The arrow went wild and right over his back. But on the bright side we didn't make a bad hit and have a wounded deer.  :D

Have you been practicing out of a tree stand?  I have noticed I seem to shoot a little higher out of a treestand unless I draw like I would if I was on the ground and then lower the bow down while maintaining form.  Obviosly I am a gap shooter so this may or may not help you.  I guess the point is it really is important to practice the way you hunt.  Good luck

I have been trying to hunt with a longbow some instead of my well proven recurve.this is Buck #2 + 1 doe I have messed up on this year.like said above, At least I missed ..Its back to the recurve.. I just hope I get another chance..

Mo Huntin...

That is exactly what happens when you don't bend at the waist when shootin from an elevated position.  Think of it as artifically raising the rear site.  Which is exactly what happens when you lower your bow arm.  And yes it applies to instictive shooting as well.  All accuracy is based on consistant form.

good luck this fall!
