I believe Bear Quest still has openings for the week ending June 26th. Contact Tom Phillips for details.

Check the Bear Quest thread, there may still be an opening.  It's a great hunt and camp.  Lots of fun and, oh yeah, the bears are pretty good, too!

Yep. I will be hunting Spring Bear in Oregon, but we CANNOT bait, so I use a rifle for the hunt.

I hunt the coast in steep rugged terrain and getting within Tradbow range is highly unlikely, but you are welcome to try.

I got a little guff from a couple of my tradbow friends for using a 308, so if ANYONE wants to come out here with only their tradbow, I welcome you to hunt with me. Just make sure you are in great shape and can put on 15 miles a day.

I killed a 350 lb boar that measures 18 13/16. My friend Chris took a 150 lb boar the weekend before. We hunted 9 hours and killed 2 bears that includes a miss by Chris within those 9 hours.

Lots of bears on the Oregon Coast, but it is not a cushy hunt where you are dropped off at a treestand near a road. This is a hunt where you park at a locked gate and walk into large clearcuts and glass for bears.

Mike,

We have awesome Cougar and Bear hunting here, which is really not a good thing. Deer hunting on the other hand is horrible, hence the reason for Ohio.

I started Spring Bear hunting last year, because I needed something that I could actually find and harvest LOL. There are more bears killed by cars in the area I hunt bear than there are deer kille by cars. We have a predator pit situation in Oregon. Ohio, here I come  :goldtooth:

Tags go on sale in January I believe. First come, first serve up to 3500 and they are going fast, because of the high success rate.

There are no guarantees, but you are welcome to come out and pound some ground.

I will probably be out May 8th and 9th and the 15th and 16th next season.

This may not be politically correct, but it is correct: "In Oregon, when fat people are wearing shorts, it is time to start hunting bears".
