This morning my buddy Doug(doug g) and I hunted his Grandad's old farm. Although the farm has a new owner we have still permission to hunt it. About 0750 this morning I had what appeared at first to be a doe come by and cross the creek behind my stand. I watched thru the binocs as the deer crossed and then stood on the opposite bank. I studied the head and could'nt see horns. The deer then turned and came back to my side of the creek and proceeded to walk towards my stand. At 13 yards I was at full draw and focused only on a spot on the chest. The arrow entered high but was a pass thru. We waited about 45 minutes and took up the trail, which was, at the most, 100 yrds. Turns out my 1st trad Deer since 1997 turned out to be a button buck.
I was shooting my Shrew Li'l Favorite that I picked up at Kalamazoo last winter, with a 1916 Legacy and STOS broadhead. This bow only pulls
44 lbs. at my draw but was more adequate.
