Hog hunt at Ray's Hog Heaven Oct.30,31& Nov1

I'm heading down to Ray Hammonds place next weekend to do a little hunting and unwind from work. My dad is also going with me and I know he is looking forward to it the same as me. We are the only two that Ray has booked for that weekend, so there is room for up to three more if anybody out there would like to join us. We are easy to get along with and not to rowdy.
Would enjoy the company of fellow trad archers. This is the first time I have went after hogs with a stick and string. I'm hoping to get my first kill with my osage self bow! This is going to be good.

Our group was there first weekend in Oct. We had a blast! This was our second hunt at Ray's this year and have already planned our next trip.
Good luck!

$495.00 per hunter..all meals and lodging included.
You just need to get a 40 dollar license and you are in business.
We've just had a bunch of rain and Charlie the property manager tells me the hogs are going crazy pushing the mud and logs around to get roots, salamanders, grubs, snakes- whatever they can find..as well as our huge acorn crop.. so it should be a fantastic weekend.
I always have good luck around Halloween!
Looking forward to hunting with you!!!

Good luck Scott.
I haven't taken a hog yet either. One of these days I'd like to get down to Ray's and shoot one of his hogs.
That's the ultimate, to take a hog with a selfbow. Did you make the bow? Be sure to get photos.

I made my osage bow last year with a couple of more experianced eyes looking on and coaching me. I will be sure to take my camera with me. I also have some arrows that I made out of tonkin cane that I will be using.

Watch for Joe Coots' story coming in a day or so...Scott and his dad are going to hit it PERFECT!!!!! We probably saw 50 hogs this weekend...and didn't hunt that hard.
Joe and I were down to hang some stands, stump shoot, and hunt a tiny bit...and he nailed one.
I've not seen them moving any better and the sign is everywhere.

Kasey,
It's rained a bunch since you guys were here and that's really helped us out a lot, as you can imagine.
