The best $13 I have ever spent on Traditional Archery!
« on: October 23, 2009, 03:10:00 PM »
Late last season I began to struggle coming to full draw in hunting situations. It seemed that if the shot was over 15 yards it was impossible for me to come to full draw. My confidence was eroding quickly to the point of not drawing on an animal for fear of the result. I read many a thread on topics that were related to this to try and find a solution.

I found the start of this season no different. I have had several opportunities at doe and a few Turkey but I was not able to commit to the shot fully. Once I got past my ego, I ordered the Clickety-Clicker from one of the above sponsors and I must say, instantly I noticed a remarkable improvement.

There is something to be said about a consistent anchor/draw. My confidence is on the rebound and I look forward to climbing into my stand tomorrow morning.

same thing here!! i have a clicker on every bow i own. its all about being consistent and having faith in your shot sequences. i gap shoot and i can tell you that for me...if i didnt have a clicker and short draw by even a half inch...well my intended target gets by free:) and i figure thats why olympic archers use them...TO BE CONSISTENT

 Yes!
Best 13 smackers I ever spent too.
Took a wee bit of time to get used to,
but it sure has put the joy back into
shooting.

Same here.  I have been hitting full draw more in the last 9 months than in the last 9 years.

Way to go limbow!

I was in the same boat a couple years ago and the clicker changed all that.  After 2 years of clickers, I was able to take them off this spring and shooting just fine.  Keep using them and do not remove them too soon.

Can you use them for hunting? It seems to me that a deer could hear the click when you come to full draw.Just wondering, because i was thinking about trying one.

I can shot without one just fine, but have them on all of my bows. I always have one on my hunting bows, and wouldn't think of hunting without one.

I have tested the clicker on many deer and have never had them react to the noise.

I honestly believe that if allot of trad shooters would let go of their egos and get a clicker they would shoot allot better than they ever could without one.

My son couldn't hit anchor last year. As a matter of fact he wasn't even getting close to it. He told me his mind was telling him to release the arrow before he hit anchor. I knew then that he had a bad case of target panic. I have also had milder problems from time to time. So i bought him a clicker and he now is hitting anchor and shooting much better. My buddy Knobby has one on his bow and it works for him also. Limbow you made a wise choice going to a clicker and good luck with your shooting.

Yes, they work just fine for hunting. The bowstring makes more noise than the clicker.

Only downside I know of is that sometimes you get conditioned to release when it clicks.  Not good if you're not on target.  Mainly applies to guys who buy them to help target panic.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.
