eventful evening
« on: October 23, 2009, 10:51:00 PM »
well today my primos predator den blind came in!! got it out and setup in the back yard....took a few practice shots out of it with a 56",62", and 64" bow....all worked great. so i packed it up and went to setup for tomorrow morning hunt. i setup and cross the creek on my way out, i get on the bank and look up....here comes a buck running down hill angling towards me. he never makes it any closer than 75 yards but i stay put b/c here comes 2 does even closer, also running. they stop at the edge of the woods and watch the hilltop. then i see something black running towards them and the does take off....well i sneak closer and closer. i hide behind some brush and here it comes... a huge raccoon!! dont know why or if the deer were actually running from it but, it looked that way at first. well i draw back a stinger tipped arrow and release at about 15 yards. it hits him high in the back and he growls and runs into a hollow tree. i walk up to it and he stands outside the hole looking around. i draw again at about 6 or 7 yards...watch my arrow zip in and out of him. he dissappears in the hole, no blood on either arrow just hair????the shots were perfect but no blood?? the arrows are greasy so im thinking all that fat just kept it from bleeding. im going to find him in the morning though..hopefully
