Browning Wasp Recurve

I took a chance and bought a Browning Wasp Recurve off of **** last night.  Hopefully, it'll be here in a few days.

I can't seem to find much information on this bow.  Does anybody have an idea what the recommended brace height should be?  How do I tell what year it is, and if it is FF capable?  Any other information or experience with this bow would be appreciated.

Browning factory recommended brace height is - 6 3/4" to 7 1/2". Browning's entry level hunting bow. can get more info once you get the bow in hand...

I have had several WASPs. I never would have thought them to be considered "entry level" bows. There is nothing "entry level" about their performance. As a matter of fact I think they are one of Browning's finest hunting bows. Light, stable, maneuverable, and really zip an arrow. Late '60's early 70's, 56" AMO, NOT fast flight compatible. The ones I have had did like a lower brace height, start at 7 1/4" and tune from there.

My guess is you are gonna' be pretty happy with it.

A real sleeper of a bow. Good grip and very easy to point and shoot. Just a great bow to get out in the woods with.

The bow finally arrived.  Very slight twist in one limb which I think I've fixed.

Shot a few arrows in the backyard, about 10 yards, and some nice tight groups.  I can't wait to get a chance to really tune it, I love the handle and the way it fits my hand.

The Browning with bow and Wasp markings.  The other markings are 4T2035, 45#, 56" AMO.  Any way to tell the year?  Any other information that I need to know?

I was planning on replacing the string which is in poor condiciton.  The current string only measures 50".  Shouldn't the string be longer than that, especially to obtain the recommended brace height?

If the bow is 56", the string should be 52". As I recall, you should not use fastfllight.
