Need some bow help
« on: November 12, 2009, 02:17:00 PM »
I am trying to find out how old my longbow is.  It is a Blackhawk YellowJacket.  The bow is 66" with a 46lbs @ 28" draw.  There is not a birth date on the bow but i do have some numbers from the bow printed on it is 367 and Y.J. 3207.  I had heard that they went out of business many years ago but could be mistaken.  Since purchasing it i have sanded the finish off of the handle(maple) and refinished it with 6 coats of top coat(perk of working in a furniture shop).  Any help you guys could give me would be great.
Thanks, Nate

They went out of business in the early 70's. They were made by the Cravotta brothers in McKeesport, PA. I think it is a 1967 made bow but not 100% certain.
