Woodchuck Power Taper Tool ?????

Somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I can't seem to get the taper deep enough and the right length. I've tried different stop pin positions and I have adjusted the disc in closer to the shaft. Do I need to angle the motor some?? The 3 Rivers video makes it look easy. I'm missing something...

Make sure you are using the taper slot closest to the disc and not the nock slot.  Adjust the angle of the motor, the disc, and the stop to get what you want.  Sounds like you need to angle the motor a little so the sanding disc is making contact closer to the point of the taper than the rear.  That would be a slightly clockwise twist to the motor if you are looking at the face of the disc.

I am using the slot closest to the disc. I probably just need to play with it a little more. It's making a smooth taper. Thanks, Drew

The slot closest to the disc is for the tip taper, the slot away from the disc at more of an angle is for the nock taper....longer taper for tip, shorter taper for nock....make sense? Hope that helps. Also I have found that by slightly adjusting the motor, as Molson said, to get the right angle. I have adjusted mine so I have a nice ledge where the field pt. or broadhead butts up against so the transition is seamless.
