I am getting a long bow 55@28, arrows for long bow stay at that weight compared to recurve where you go to a higher spine correct?

There are a lot of variables that influence which spine you will need. Bow and string materials, how close to center the shelf is cut, and bow design are of great importance. Total arrow weight, and point weight are other factors to be considered.
Just thought I would muddy the waters a bit. :D
Whatcha gettin'?

I predict your will need 65/70 cedars cut 30" BOP if you shoot 125 or 145 heads, go up to 70/75 for 160 to 175 heads. Or if you are shooting carbon you will want 55/75 Gold Tips with about 175 total up front of a 30" arrow. You may find your draw length is shorter with a long bow than with recurve or wheel thing, but these arrows should still be close. Keep your old bow for this season and learn to shoot the new one over the next year to be ready for fall 2010. I also predict that compound is going to be for sale the first time you take a deer with a stick bow.
