I started with a coat of true oil...let it dry...then went over with a green scotch brite pad...i will continue to do this until i get the desired results...

True oil can crack with age especially when applied over another finish instead of raw wood a high quality paste wax might give better results in the long run

I agree with Crimson, the true oil will crack in the long run if not applied to "raw" wood. Get yourself some Butcher's Wax and have at it. I use Butcher's Wax atleast once a year on my bows and I end up with a great protective finish that looks good too.

I have used Tru-oil as a touch up for years on bows & on pistol & rifle stocks. You can cause it to have a dull finish by rubbing it after you apply it. Frank

After shooting I wipe my bow down with a silicone gun & reel cloth. My bow also has a dull finish but the cloth puts a real nice sheen on the wood. Also suppose to protect it.As long as you store the cloth in the sealed bag they last for a long time.Mine came from Mossy Oak for about 3 bucks.

i use tung oit on my bows and you can get them as shiny as you want by more and more coats....with rubbing with 0000 in between dried coats. here is my last one....just 5 coats on this now....will add maybe 6 more.

Ringo64, pretty work. I love tung oil also, and have used it for Many years on many wood items.
