Grizzleystik Specs???
« on: November 19, 2009, 04:46:00 PM »
Anyone know the specs on Grizzleystik Sitkas and Alaskans?  Looking for GPI and static spine (or deflection).

I'd like to plug them in to the dynamic spine calculator to see how they would work.

I've done some searches and can't seem to find any specifics.

I ordered some Sitkas once.  The Sitka cut to 29.5" with the grizzlystik brass insert (72gr I believe) weighed in around 370gr.  Don't know about the Alaskan.

Can't tell you about spine except they were spined too light for all of my bows...

TT

Any help or info anyone?  I know they're supposed to work over a wide range of bow weights, but it would be nice if the specifics (GPI/static spine) would be easily found.

Neither one is a measure that applies to Grizzlystiks.  The steady taper on the shafts means that there is no way to get an accurate GPI for those shafts. It varys over the length of the shaft.  The spine is also varying as you move the FOC point up or down the shaft with different weight heads or by cutting the shafts.  The reason this type of shaft flys so well out of a wide range of bow weights is that each arrows balance point  FOC point ) changes for each weight of bow.  Tapered shafts cannot be plugged into a dynamic spine calculator/  That only works for straight / uniform spine shafts.

Thanks for the feedback.

Guess I'll just buy some and give them a try.
