I have never shot a javelina, look like alot of fun, though!  That is awsome. You gotta tell the story if ya gonna post a pic, right?

I go to Texas every winter to chase these critters.  It is a lot of fun.  They can really be a challange stalking them.  Their eye sight in not good, but they make up for it with the nose.
We got into several bunches and shot a lot of arrows.  If you think you are a pretty good shot, try shooting at a running javelina.  They will really make you humble afterwards.
This one came out of a pretty good bunch.  I got busted stalking them, and one of them circled me trying to get the wind.  It was only 1 pace in front of me.  I don't know why it never winded me. It finally returned to the "flock" and I continued my stalk.  Finally got a good shot at one, then everything went down hill after that.  Pigs were running everywhere and I emptied my quiver.  Afterwards, I just had to sit down and laugh.  I think the lost arrows cost me more than the hunt.  Oh well, give me something to do this winter.
I have been shooting this bow (Stumbo - made in Ft. Collins, Co) for about 18 yrs.  It is 70#'s - a little much for javelina's, with gold tip shafts.  I fletch my arrows with feathers from turkeys I shot and tip them with either Zwikies or Eclipse.  Both are really good 2 blade heads and easy to sharpen.  Just ask me - every evening I was sharpening arrows. Ha

Didn't have much of a group this year.  The 2 from Cheyenne ( you know who I mean) couldn't make it.  Two others also had to cancel out because our hunt date got changed at the last minute and they could not get vacation rescheduled.  There were only 3 of us this year, but we shot enough arrows for a BIG group.  Spent every evening sharpening arrows. ha   Had a good time anyway.  Still have enough meat to make some sausage though.
