Hoyt Dorado

Any owners of the Dorado, or anyone that would know.
Has anyone ever heard of mounting the limbsaver
silencers on the "back"side of the bow? I just purchased a Dorado and the limbsavers are mounted
right below the limb tightening bolt....what do you think?

I've never heard of that before Craig, mine are on the belly side, near the fades on my Reflex Nomad.  How's that working for you?

Strange place to put them to me. My Dorado and every bow I've ever seen with limb savers has had them on the belly side. You could always just get a new set and switch them around I guess.

That is what I thought also guys.I just wanted to check before I peeled them off.It does seem quiet.
Is the Dorado a noisy bow without them? Thanks a lot.

Craig, I got my Dorado used and it came set up and ready too shoot. It is very quiet with limb savers, string silencers and a Simms stabilizer. My wife says the sound of the arrow hitting the target is louder than my release with the bow!    Not sure what it sounds like without all of extras and not sure I want to know.

Mine was louder without limb savers and I put mine on the belly side also. I did go to a smaller string and put woolie whispers on which helped the most.

Hi Craig. I have a Gamemaster, which I believe has the same limb mounting set-up. I found that putting pads in the limb pockets and under the limb bolts did more to quiet the bow down than anything else. Mine are from DAS Kinetics, but really any thin rubber gasket material would work. I keep my arrows around 10gpp with wool puffs on the string, and it is as quiet as any recurve I've shot. Oh yeah, I got rid of the FF string too. Let me know how you like the Dorado. Paul.

You can just peel them off and move them to the belly side if you want to.I would not shoot any recurve without them myself because I know they work.Of course I would never shoot a b-50 string on any bow either when I could use anything else on it.

Thank you guys for the input.I was shooting in the cellar yesterday for a while.It is a very smooth bow, it does not have the warmth of a nice wood riser,but I can get over that when I see how it shoots.

monkeyball be careful when you peel them off. I had a set that took the finish off when I removed them.
I liked the Dorado when I shot it at our archery shop.

What arrows are you shootin out of it? My 50# really like CX Heritage 150's w/175 up front.

         This one has 45# limbs and right now I am
shooting a Vapor 4000 with a 100 gr brass and a 175
field pt. They are not flying bad but I have to get
outside and shoot at a further distance and see how
it looks.

I'm shooting the Dorado with mink string silencers.   55@28.   2016 and 2114 @ 28 inches.  My bow is "dead" quiet and very little if any vibes!  It's a pleasure to shoot.    Don't need those "rubbers" on this bow!
