Excited about public land hunt.
« on: November 27, 2009, 12:13:00 PM »
Rifle season is finally over!  I've got permission from the wife for a three day hunt!  Plans have been made for a combo duck/deer hunt on some public land here in Missouri that I have never hunted.  I'm pretty excited.  This will be my first hunt with my osage selfbow 60@26.  Broadheads were sharpened last night, and bags are almost packed.  Wish me luck!

Don't forget to check the regs on orange req.  the main rifle season has ended but we still have the antlerless firearms, muzzleloader, and extra youth season.  There won't be as many out there with rifles, but still will be some.  Good luck.

Yeah they are still out there, but I will be hunting Ted Shanks CA so there will not be any gun guys there.

I use to hunt Shanks before the 93 flood. It killed lots of trees. Been meaning to go back. Was some great deer hunting.
God Bless

Public land can offer a lot better hunting than some realize.  I have hunted tons of public land with varying degrees of sdcess, just need to get off the beaten path a bit to see deer.
