Neat, "New Al"   ;)   - and good detective work Chad. I started out with the same clue but noticed I was too late before I got headed out.

Well spoted Killy...  :notworthy:  and your post put a smile to my sometimes staunch face.

Yes from all accounts it is a rather treasured patch. Back in the day, if a German sniper was caught with this item it was a death sentance. The soldiers were ment to attach 'em onto there clothing or battle tunic, but most would place them into there pay books, if kept at all.

Being from German stock I was call Kopfjagger from my platoon Sgt whilst on my snipers cse in the Infantry. Not having a clue as to what he was talking about, I went looking on the net and bookstores.

I named a longbow with that name, and it lived up to it more often than not.

I don't speak German, and you could save me a half-hour of research here.  :saywhat:

How times have changed...Germans are about as peaceful as it gets nowadays, but I also got the impression that shooting skills suffered a bit   :(

They don't even allow bow-hunting in Germany do they..I was stationed in Scweinfurt several years ago and hung out with a local forest meister, he was fascinated with bow hunting but led me to believe it was against the law

Ben,
Unfortunately you're right   :(
Bowhunting is illegal, but since it was reintroduced to other (surrounding) countries such as Denmark, France and Sweden, chances that it becomes legal  could have improved.   :archer:
