Hello From Western Kentucky
« on: November 29, 2009, 04:51:00 PM »
Hey everyone, I have been a member for a little while now and have thoroughly enjoyed this site. I am new to trad hunting and have really picked up some great tips in following various threads. If I had known how much fun trad is, I certainly would have began a long time ago. I live in western ky. about an hour and 30 min. from Nashville, Tn., and about 45 min. from Evansville, In. in the town of Madisonville, Ky.  Are there any trad clubs in this area, or any of you guys get together to shoot much in the hunting "off season"?  Thanks again for a great site and God Bless.

I'm in the process of closing on a house and land west of Kentucky Lake in Dexter. Looks like that's 60-70 miles west of you.

I understand there is a club south of Dexter in Tennessee, but I don't remember the name. There's probably one closer to you.

I'm not from Kentucky any more but I was born in Reed (near Henderson) and have relatives all around Louisville and Ownensboro. We lived several years in Earlington which is near Madisonville. Providence is where I started shooting my first bow. You are right in the middle of where I grew up. Great area.

Welcome to Tradgang.

Welcome to TradGang. I'll be watching this close as my son has new orders to Ft Campbell and will undoubtly be asking the same question.

Hey Guys thanks for the welcome. I found out about Twin Oaks traditional bowhunters club which is in Clarksville,Tn.  That's only about 45 to 50 minutes from where I live. I believe that is where the IBO trad championship will be next year?

Canyon, Clarksville is very close to Ft. Campbell, they have a website I was told.

You will like Twin Oaks. Karen and I went there for the first time last year. Pappy and the rest of the group are fine people.

Hey, Mark.  I grew up near Madisonville--that little burg called Nebo.  My dad was the pastor of the Baptist church there for several years.  Always lived in the west Ky area while growing up.  Nice to hear from "back home."  Welcome to the Gang--post more often.....Dave
