Arrow display rack ideas
« on: December 04, 2009, 11:20:00 AM »
A quick search really didn't give me anything so...

I'm finally getting my shop to the point where I'm 'moving in' to my archery room/finish room.  I have 3+ dozen arrows I'd like to display on one wall (along with a few bows) and am searching for ideas.  Most of these arrows were from the previous arrow swaps and the others were gifts, so they are all different and I'd like to be able to see them all.  The wall they'll be going on is cedar beadboard - got a few bundles of the stuff for free and it sure beats the OSB the rest of the shop is covered in!  :D

Any ideas?

Oh yeah, the ceilings are 10ft and there's a workbench along the wall at waist level.  The room is 8x8.  Gonna work out GREAT for fletching and finish work on knives and leather!!

I would use a piece of 1x3 and attach it horizontal and every 1 1/2 to 2" drill a small 1/8countersink hole for the point to rest in . ad use a dowel cut to 1" in the peg board holes offset 1/2" so the arrows can stand up and be seen in full view and will be on a slight tilt so they do not fall down. And you can put a small notch in the dowel to ensure they will not fall over it would look kinda look this on the wall. ///////////.Good luck with whatever you decide.

Jeremy.
Take a 1*2 pine board 6-8' long and drill as many 3/8" hole/divots in it as you think you will need, then attach it to the wall in as big an arch as you can get it to bend into, perfect tiller of course  :)  Then in a fan shape matching the pine board put dowels in the wall, then place the tip of the arrow in the divot and lean against the dowel. Easy to add, remove or redesign the pattern. If there is to be any vibration or banging on the bench you could put a small rubber band around the arrow and the dowel to hold it in place. Start in the middle and expand to the outside of the arch.
Lots of pics of the room when you are done with what ever design you go with.

Made any decision yet or are you too busy making them pretty arrow carriers.
