125 grain Muzzy's with CX Heritage
« on: December 08, 2009, 09:46:00 AM »
I recently had a post on here about something similar. I'm shooting a 50# @ 28. Take Down Recurve with fast flight string, 125 grain muzzy phantoms and carbon express 150 shafts at about 29 inches long. I was just wondering how many of you guys are shooting a similar setup and if it works good for you.

I am shooting the Heritage 250's out of a RC that is 54@28 and I draw 29".  Nice results on animals.  Complete passtru on two deer last year with nice trails.  Also, I just ordered some 150's to shoot out of a new longbow and plan on shooting the phantom.

Shooting a 62" 50# recurve with fast flight string. Carbon Express 150 cut to 28.25 inches with 50 grain brass insert and 125 grain tip and three 5" shield cut feathers. They fly very well out to 30 yards. Have not shot beyond 30 yards.

I was shooting the 150's with the 125gr phantoms but i wanted a heavier arrow so went to the 250's with 100 gr brass insert and the 200gr phantoms and got my arrow weight up to 625grs. If i want a little lighter shaft of around 540grs I use the goldtip 55/75's
