Headed out for a last minute hunt this evening. When I got out of the truck I thought to myself "hey, it smells good around here". Nope I realized, that's the fist full of bay rum aftershave you slapped-on a few hours ago. Too late now, so on I go to my tree.
Sure enough just about dusk, a fox comes under me and right behind him I hear ... crunch, crunch, crunch.
I slowly turn my head and 2 does are coming right behind me. One a bit further to the left, is more interested in the shoreline, but the other freezes. I slowly face front again and after a minute or so I hear her take a few steps my way.
I slowly turn my head to get a glimpse and that does it. She blows a few times and heads out, taking the other doe with her.
I don't know if she smelled me or saw me ... since I'd forgotten my face mask too.
Maybe I'll take a bath in Hi-Karate and see how that works.
