« on: December 13, 2009, 10:26:00 PM »
I bought Parallel 1/4 Dia. Glue or Crimp on Points for the Shafts. I dont know exactly  WHAT  Tool to Use to Crimp them on the Shaft, without Distorting the Shaft or Boogering Up the Point Itself.     Anybody have an Idea of What Tool Is Best for this Project???  :help:   Any and  ALL  Info will be appreciated!! (These are for Kids Christmas Arrows by the way.)

If you don't come up with a crimping tool/method, I have some 5 deg taper points and could spare some for the kids.

I have a bunch of points you can use without crimping. They should work, these points are from the early 60's. PM me your mailing address and I'll get them out to you.....

I'd just use hot melt glue and not bother with a crimp.  Are you talking about the sheet metal type points or regular field point style steel points?  I've got a bunch of the parallel taper field points for 1/4" arrows and just glue them on with no problems.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

If you dont want to use hot melt then you can try wood swell it's made for furniture it works great on table legs.Or if you heat up the head till its hot you can use a pair of wire strippers to do the crimp.or you can get a fishing crimping tool( used for making marlin and tuna rigs) from cabelas or bass pro they will do the job.
Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a
difference in the world, but the Marines don’t have that problem.

I knew there HAD to be a Crimping Tool out there somewhere! Yes, they are the Sheet Metal Points from 3R I am trying to use. I found a Small Pencil Sharpener, like for Little Golf Pencils & Such, and it puts a Perfect Angle on the Nock End!! I Thought maybe put a Nock point on for the Point Angle, then use Some Epoxy to keep them on??
Thank You ALL for Your Help!! I will be in touch with some of You!! Thank You Again, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
