Best broadhead glue?
« on: April 12, 2007, 04:06:00 PM »
I want some of your opinions about what is the best broadhead glue. The reason I am asking is that I am going to participate in the state broadhead competition and I do not want any of my broadheads comming off inside the 3-d targets. I do not know what brand of targets they use, but either way, I do not want that problem. Thanks in advance for your reply. Oh by the way I am shooting eclipse 145gr bh with hex-shaft or cedar arrows.

I still like the original Ferrule Tite.  Whatever glue you use, be sure to clean the inside of the head tapers.

I was using the hot melt glue. I even scratched up the inside of the tip and cleaned it real good with acetone, then let it dry before putting them on. I lost 2 tips inside those hard Mckinsey targets. When my arrow gets pulled out there is a bunch of foam stuck to my arrow like it got heated on. I thought about using liquid nails, but I want to be able to adjust my broadheads.

Can you heat up Ferrule Tite to adjust the BH?

Another thing that may help, glue aside, it to sharpen the back edge of the blade. That way when you pull the arrow out, and the broadhead isn't perfectly aligned with the entrance hole, it'll cut a new path rather than bunch up a wad of foam, pulling the head off.

Not all hot melt glues are created equal. Never had a problem with ferrule tite. I've re heated it for tuning many times. I do use the 24 hr epoxy with carbons.

J-B Weld is a good two part epoxy that will hold your broadheads in place..... Cheap and easy to find..

I use Goat Tuff Glue from Tim's archery supply.  I have never had a head come off yet.

what fletcher said; and yes; you can with ferrule tite you can heat up the broadhead to spin it straight; or take it off. Good stuff.

roknjs... golf glue? OK; but "millions of golfers can't be wrong"?
