Terry,
I agree with a lot of what is being said here. You won't find your answer written in these responses. You'll have to decide for yourself by getting your hands on 58" and 60" bow. Even then, you'll still be uncertain. Both have their advantages. You'll eventually own one of each anyway, so don’t sweat it
. This is the one of those things you’ll debate for as long as you shoot a bow. I have a 60" & 62" Tip. I draw a recurve 29" and shoot both lengths well, but with my big hands and wide fingers, will always side with the longer bow for real shooting comfort. 58" will work just fine for your 28” draw, then you'll shoot a 60" bow and say, "wow, that’s much easier and more pleasant to shoot"! I have also shot the 58” Silvertips and love them, they are sweet! There are so many variables though, you have to compare apples to apples. Draw weight has a lot to do with it as well. The heavier the draw, the more you’ll appreciate a longer bow. Short “heavy” bows can be miserable to shoot. Longer bows shoot nicer for all day events, stump shooting, etc. Longer bows hold a little more stable, hence tend to be more accurate for the shooter (not always). Having said all this, I preferred my 60” Tip over my 62” Tip this past fall. Short bows definitely carry nice and are a dream in tree stands and ground blinds. You want the 58”, that’s what you should get…we’re splitting hairs here anyway, either length would be appropriate for you! Call if you would like to talk more about it (608) 798-1103.
Good luck,
Kris
