I just got in from a round of stump shooting(90 min.) with a friend. The plan was once we finished our woods walk we'd stop at the stationary target and flinging more there. But, by the time we made it back out of the woods, I was beat so I called it quits and came home. I don't hurt any where but man the energy reserve just isn't there. Guess I'm still convalescing. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
Thank you folks for such caring.
God bless,Mudd

Mudd... congratulations, indeed.

Hills are clearly addictive. I thought I could perhaps have a new career and make a lot of money with a Hill Bows Addiction Rehab Center, but it failed... no one signed up.  8^)

I went totally nuts and over the course of a few years had 30 some of them, I lost track.  I did finally find a cure for buying them, I started building them.  Unfortunately, that's just as addictive.

Let me say one thing in all seriousness, given that you have health considerations.  If/when you get another Hill, think really hard about going way down in weight.  Speaking as one who has to fight some serious health issues to keep shooting at all, I have found that shooting a 30# to 40# Hill can be just as much fun as shooting a 50# Hill, and is a heck of a lot easier on old, overweight, out of shape or damaged bodies.  The more you shoot, the more you benefit from the lighter weight.  I currently build my everyday bows to +/- 30# and my hunting bows to +/- 40#.  My favorite "heavy" bow is 43#, but I have to rest up a day or two after I shoot it for a bit of practice, to let the aches and pains go away.  It's OK for hunting but not for fun and 3D.  My 28# bows, I can shoot a whole lot.  When I was at real low ebb, I build a 17# bow and shot 3D with it, had just as much fun as ever.  Stay healthy and shoot for as many years as you can.

Wasn't wearing my glasses and I thought that Title was about "Lovin' Purses and HH's". Disturbing imagery there, and I was hoping it was just the post-op med's. After a fast scramble for my glasses I am relieved that you are shooting your bow Mudd and it's all you expected. Don't push too hard, enjoy, and Congrats!!

It definitely gets worse, much worse--IMHO the best course of action for yu is to box the bow up and send it to me immeadiately--do not shoot it any more--it only gets worse- much worse get out while you can!!!
Glad you're shooting!!

I'm with on the fanaticism with the Hill bows, it is a sickness for sure.  I have three I think I will be buried with.

Hopefully not any time soon may I add!!!!

Alright Mudd, know you've been beside yourself to get that Big 5 in your hand. Glad no ill effects! Enjoy it.

Mudd thats great.  And I admire that you were able to resist the temtation of shooting that new bow.  I know I could not have past that test.  I wish I could give you some sort of assertion that they're not contagious.  But they are, I have photographic evidence that they are.

Enjoy your new bow.

Two Hills here (Big Five and Wesley Special) and have owned another three or four...that now I wish I'd kept.  Great bows for sure and more pure fun to shoot than any other make I've owned (and that includes some nice ones...Widows, Morrisons, 21st Centuries, Super Shrews, the list is long).

Enjoy your genuine Hill bow, Mudd.  When it comes to age we may both be over the hill, but chances are we'll never be over our Hills.    :biglaugh:

Mudd -
Good to see that you're finally able to shoot that new Hill. Enjoy the bow and take care of the body.

Dick gave you some good advice. Drop the weight. It's still loads of fun. Hunt with 40 and practice with 30. You will get by much longer. Glad your having so much fun though.  :)

It sounds like I'd better figure out some way to afford at least one more Hill at a lighter weight.

Oh well, I've always loved a challenge. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.
Merry Christmas to all!!

Mudd, got your number in the e-mail.  Too busy with family stuff to hook up and check out the quiver.  I'll give ya a call in the next few days.  Maybe I'll bring my new to me Robertson over and shoot somewhere.  Mark
