Was wondering if any of you had opnions about using bacote for limb cores? I usually use bamboo or actionwood with exotic veneers and clear glass. I'm kicking around the idea of black glass, gray actionwood veneers(parallels) and bacote cores(tapers) but I wasn't sure how the bacote would perform.
If any of you are familiar with my bows, you are aware that looks are as important as function to me. With this combination, I'm thinking it would make a killer stripe along the length of the bow. I plan on making an identical stripe in the riser using ebony or african blackwood as the base. I did this combination on a knife and absolutley love it. A matching knife might also be in the works. Here is a pic of the stripe in the knife.
