i plan on shooting one at 11:59 and 58 seconds so she goes up in one year and comes down in another.

Unless I recollect wrong (it happens) the tradition is that whatever you are doing at the stroke of midnight, you will be doing throughout the year.  

Shooting at a target on the ground counts.

Elkherder if you shoot at 1259 and 58 seconds you will be one hour late! Try 1159 and 58 seconds to make it work.

I'm an early riser so at the stroke of midnight I'll be snoozing, but I have my own little tradition. I have a bottle of JW Blue that was a gift from my great uncle and I have a big shot of that every new years eve.

But I will be fine tuning for Curtis' New Years Day.
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.
