Does anyone make tabs?
« on: April 14, 2007, 12:06:00 PM »
I lost my favorite tab and was wondering if anyone on here makes them. I know I could buy another from a trad supplier but my tab had mojo and I thought that one made by a fellow Tradganger would carry mojo with it. Thanks.

Benha,
If you have a pattern of sorts I would be willing to look at it an at least let you know if it was something I could do.
Thanks,

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

I could make you one out of a single ply of leather. Its as simple a design as they come but they work well and you could trim it if you needed to.Let me know and Ill send one to you.

I have a favorite tab, too. I have lost it, and had it returned...twice! I will make a template of it, 'cause I know me.

They are easy to make, the simple mitten-shaped things, and I am sure that given the materials, you could do it as well. What was yours like?

I don't even remember how I acquired it. But it bothers me to no end that I have lost it. It had a finger seperator but other than that it was a plain tab. Herkimerhunter you have a pm.

"I don't even remember how I acquired it"

I bet I lost it!  :biglaugh:
So, plain tab, with a finger seperator.
No calf hair?  Was it squarish or more rounded? Did it have elastic across the back/ Why do I feel like I am pulling hen's teeth here?

I don't do finger seperators.  "[dntthnk]"

George you can trace the outline of your shooting hand fingers then cut one out of any suitable leather. I have even made them out of latigo but since I tried a cordovan tab from Alaska Bowhunters (sponsor)I haven't made one for myself. They are about $10.00 & as Mike G says 2 will last a very long time. Frank
