Bow Rack and Deer Antler Lamb I Built
« on: December 30, 2009, 09:40:00 PM »
Guys
I been meaning to post these pics for a while. After seeing some really nice bow racks i decided to try and build one my self. i cut a small cedar tree down and ripped the trunk into to halves. Used some old cedar fence boards for the back and top/bottom and used a few of the limbs i saved from the tree to make pegs for the bow to rest on. Hope you like it...my wife liked it enough to let me hang it in the kids play room...which she doesn't know is slowly but surely turning into my MAN cave.

Now here is a lamp i built out of some of the horns i have piling up over the past 25 years of deer hunting. Went to Lowes and bought a light fixture kit and a shade and thats all it took besides a drill and some well placed sheet rock screws to hold the horns together.

Remember when i said slowly turning the play room into a man cave...see the new mounts i added today. Just got them back from my trip out west with my father. The mounts look great.

Almost for got my bear rug from last year!

Hope you enjoyed the pics.

Sweet. Kids will be growed up and gone in no time, then relax in the man cave.

Keefer - You got good eyes sir!  Yeah fitting that i put it on the top peg!

Lpcjon2- the hood on the quiver is made of curly maple.  Bill with Zipper makes them to match the bow...i think he actuall makes them out of the left over riser material..so it will match the bow perfectly.  Yeah...i love my two Zipper recurves (one on second peg and one on the bottom).  The one in the middle and behind the bottom Zipper or my home made bows.  I've made about 15 long bows and about 5 or so recurves.  mainly for myself or friends.  I wish i had the time to improve my bow making abilities...but that will unfortunately have to wait until i retire...12 years 11 months and 2 weeks...but who's counting..LOL

Skarcher

Just for the record...I did not come up with the idea/design.  I saw one posted on this site earlier in the year...and just made a few slight changes in materials.

Take care.

Really nice job on the rack. Can't go wrong with log-style furniture in my book.
