treestand bow holder

Has anyone devised a bow holder that goes on a tree stand that works for longbows?  I dont want to hang it in the tree either.  thanks Mark

I used to use one that was two rubber covered fingers that the bow limb rested between and leaned forward.  Works pretty good until you move your foot and bump the bow and watch it go tumbling to the ground.                

I don't use that one anymore.  Hanging from a limb or a bow hook is much safer for me....   :rolleyes:

I took a tree step and some square tubeing. With a little forge work, I made holder that the bow always hangs in front of me for easy access. I only use them on my permanent set ups.

lpcjon2 thats my point for not wanting to hang my bow. I want to try a body heater suite and cant use my lap like most times. Ive got two deer that I wouldnt have got if I were not hanging on to my bow. I want it very close to my hand.  thanks for all replies.  mark

Let us know how the heater suit works,I looked at it and thought if you were to fall asleep and fall that it would be a nightmare to get out of.

Short and easy. Cut up a coat hanger, wrap it to the seat of your treestand and use the hook part to hols the bow. You will have to put an arrow on the string but it will hold your bow. I have used a setup like this for my compound when I get into my stand long before light and need to get things ready. I use a piece of metal that is round and I bent it like a "j" with a circle at the top. I then tie it to my seat. While hunting my bow always sits on my lap.

Don't know what kind of stand your using but I hunt with a LW climber and the little round holes casted into the platform (I think it's suppose to be for brush) holds my longbow perfectly.  You have to pad it so it doesn't mar your bow finish but it works, although it looks like it's gonna fall it is safe as can be.

I just implemented use of a lightweight simple system for hanging gear and bow.  I wish I would have thought of this years ago.  Carry a couple of extra boot laces and a couple of the metal fishing stringer clips.  I hang my pack on one with the clip closed and my bow on one with the clip open.  Takes less space and is lighter weight than anything else I've tried.
