rivers edge and shrew longbows
« on: April 15, 2007, 02:07:00 AM »
Im thinking of buying a longbow and was wanting to know if the vortex and the shrew were similar in the way the bow is made and the diffrence in the way they shoot . Also , how long of a wait after ordering on the Rivers Edge . I know that the Shrew is a year .

Thanks for your help ,
Mike Britt

Mike, In my opinion the Shrew and Vortex are similar in the way they are made. The grips are very different the Vortex grip is a bit beefier and I feel it fills the hand better, and can be ordered with a heel type grip making it easier for recurve shooters to make the transition easier. Both bows are excellent shooters with little to no hand shock, and good speed even with heavy arrows. RER has basic Vortex bows (single wood riser and black glass) in stock most of the time. Custom orders are about 8-9 months waiting time.

I believe RER also has some other Vortexs in stock that are not just the basic models. Great bows and great people. Shawn
