AD Trad Lite Nock Question?
« on: January 06, 2010, 08:07:00 AM »
I had 6 old AD Trad Lites laying around that had not been used in a long time and I was having trouble getting arrows to fly properly out of a new to me A & H ACS 53 @ 28 64".  These arrows worked great but the darn old small diameter nocks are way to easy to loose and nothing else I had would fit! What nocks are you guys using that works for you and where can I get some more?

I use the Alaska Bowhunting Supply nock inserts and nocks that they sell for their Sitka shafts.

Also there are some AD nock adaptors that will except 9/32 or 5/16 nocks

Next is the ACC 3/28 bushing and G-nocks

Also you can call the fella at Arrow Dynamics and ask about the Z nocks he installs. I seen them on Terry's arrows at Solana and they look pretty nice.

Lots of choices and they all work.

I do like said above I use the ACC 3-28 bushing on my AD's and use G-nocks.The AD trad Lite's may be alittle weak spined for your ACS.I had a 53#@28 ACS and it took heavier spined arrows then I thought it would take. The riser is cut past center and the performance of the limbs.I don't think your nocks are causing your flight problems. You can get G-nocks in two sizes to fit your string,a small groove with .088 throat and a large groove with a .098 throat.

I believe 3 Rivers now sells the AD arrows and has all the components for them including nocks.

I use Mercury speed nocks with the glue on adapter. You can also try a drop of glue on your current nocks to hold them in. I think the arrows your using are spined fine. I use the same arrow out of a recurve 53@27 with a 300 grain tip and they fly like missles. I like the black shafts. Keep in mind the wood grain shafts are a touch spined stiffer than the black ones.
