A question from  dummy.... has anyone ever injected liguid foam from a can into a shaft and allowed it to dry?  would that quiet them down? change the spine? increase the shaft weight?

Might be an area to explore???

Interesting idea Gene.

the only thing i wanna shove inside my carbonies is a 4.5" internal weight footing sleeve.

one thing for sure - efoc carbons are REAL quiet, at least for me.

so the guitar players are now arguing about the noise from  their bows .....
wait til they bring out the carbon reflex deflex telecaster ...then we'll see some real arguments!!!

but in answer to the original post .. i find my woodies quieter than carbons , but not by anything overtly noticeable ....

My bows are quieter w/ wood arrows, especially at 10+ grains per pound. Plus they are a lot more fun to build. As George said, a hollow tube will resonate.
Some these skinny, weight forward carbons may be a little noisier but they sure shoot nice.

In my experience wood arrows seem quieter, might be better tuned to the bow, point/broadhead may be on the shaft tighter, or maybe just heavier.  Could also be a little aural illusion because I like to shoot wood over the man made stuff.
