Feathers?
« on: January 07, 2010, 11:13:00 AM »
I've been looking for feathers for quite some time now, but i can't seem to find a place that has them all!?
One thing I'm looking for in particaular is a Royal/dark blue, barred feather.
I've only seen one shop on E-Bay that has something close, but that is light blue barred RW (I need LW).

My question is, who has a big/decent collection of feathers? If you know shops in other countries than the US, please list those as well.. From different types of bird would also be nice  :)
TY for answering!

Svein:  You're looking for a fairly unusual color. Suppliers don't generally stock them beacuse few manufacturer's make them that color. Another option is to buy natural barred feathers and dye them yourself.

I would check at 3Rivers,I believe they have blue barred. The tru-flight blue barred are a darker color then Gateway's blue barred.Or you may look at using a feather dye like Great Northern and dying your own, their blue dye is darker.

Shakes.602 & Orion, I've looked through most of the sponsors, or I wouldn't have posted  ;)
They just don't show blue barred on their pages!
I know it's not the most usual color, but it is so darn nice  :)

JRY309 : Thanks! Trueflight actually list it on their page, now to find a vendor!

I had thought of dyeing myself, but that will come later! I have to many other expenses, like shafts, cresting, nocks, tips etc.
Ty anyways  :)

Contact Trueflight and ask for a vendor that carries them. Also, they may sell them to you directly.

There is a shop that has them in Little Rock AR.  I shoot the Royal Blue Barred.  The name of it is Archers Advantage.  Jerald is the owner/ operator.  Last I bought of them he gave me a big discount because not many people used them.

I have some dark blue (navy) and some dark royal, natural barred wild turkey feathers left over from a project.  They are LW and full length.  I can grind them and you could have them chopped.

PM me if these will help out.
