Congradulations to a new string twister
« on: January 10, 2010, 01:47:00 PM »
Last year Mr Patton of Crow Creek bows taught me how to make a Flemish twist string.  Yesterday I was able to pass the craft on to a nice young man I met here on TG.

I have met alot of fine folks here on TG and Rogers was no exception.  After shooting a 3D course with him I found out he lives about 10 miles away from me.

Yesterday I gave him a call to see if he was free to come over and learn how to make a flemish string.  It wasn't long and he was knocking on the door.

I made an extra string for me while Rogers watched me like a hawk.  Then it was his turn.

He took to string making very easily and I was impressed with his results.

After posting this I'm going to give him a call to see if he has tried his new string yet.

Good for you!  The more that learn, the better IMO.  It's not a hard thing to do, but good instructions can be hard to get--especially on-hand instruction.

Good thing to pass knowledge on to a young person!  Just think how many times it will be passed on, from there.
I'm thnkful my old hunting parterner passed so much of his knowledge on to me.  He passed away way too soon.  I just wish I'd have gotten to know him years earlier.  The questions I still have.....

Thanks so much for showing me Pac.  You made it very simple and easy for me to learn.  I got my jig made tonight and some B-50 in the mail.
