Since reading the thread about IFL limbs. I would like to know how many use metal riser bows as Your main hunting/shooting bows?

My bowfishing bow is a Belcher metal riser and gets a tremendous workout during the summer but my shooting/hunting bows are wood risers.

Metal here.  Love them.

I enjoy the beauty and feel of wood and the history... but when it comes showtime I use metal.  

Shoot what you enjoy and what you can shoot best with... some love wood more.  Its personal preference right?

I agree, But just taking a pole to see how many shoot/hunt with them. I can see how metal risers could have a edge due to tuning the bow with the arrow rest that can be moved.

All metal here...not as pretty as wood but more accurate and forgiving

I have two bows with metal risers.

I don't prefer them over wood,it's just what those two bows happen to be made of.

I also have a few completely wood bows that I enjoy just as much.

The ILF design has been a boon to all of archery and now is getting discovered by the bowhunting side.  This has been delayed, since the metal riser actually was just coming into its own in the early 70's when the device came along and put a hold on most recurve/longbow design.  Folks today are redescovering the metal riser, and together with the ILF fittings, one can have a veritable smorgasbord of bows with just one riser.  

What goes around comes around, and the metal riser is coming around again.....that's a good thing.  Choices....you gotta love it.

Just as many others have stated I own both.  Both have their own advantages but what it all comes down to is personal preference.

My metal bow happens to be an old bear 76er and I use it for bow fishing because it can take a few more of the things that are likely to happen while bowfishing.  As far as the rest of my bows, they are wood and I use them for everything else.  Again, nothing wrong with either, that's just my preference

I shoot a metal riser, but it's not an ILF it's a Black Swan, low grip hybrid longbow, can someone say "Sweet".

I don't shoot one, but would like to try it. Believe it will attract more guys to trad.

Now I now it's personal preference to everyone on what style of bow. This pole is just for me to see how many have a metal riser bow as their Number One Shooting bow..

Before turning to Trad Bows I shot my wheelie bow with fingers and no sights. Did like the feel of it in my hands and was thinking of getting a metal riser bow (trad) for bowfishing/wet weather hunting.

When I say wet weather I mean a mist when in the summer/warmer months here in Tejas for hogs. Now don't get me wrong, I still want to take one with the all wood bow I made.
