Sal, I bought the kingfisher kit with the same intentions. I put the reel and rest on my old wheelie and set the bow up to shoot regular arrows. The biggest problem with the bow is that it was not designed to be quiet. Fiberglass limbs bolt direstly to an aluminium riser, with no buffer. It sounds like a train wreck when you shoot it. Other than that, it's a fine bow and practically bomb-proof.
As for the roller rest, it's a strange beast, but once you figure it out, it's OK. I would prefer the AMS rest or the Muzzy rest that wildgame suggested.
