Rare or mis-marked Howatt Hunter?? Help!
« on: January 13, 2010, 01:26:00 AM »
I just made a deal today to buy a "Consignment" Howatt Hunter in really nice shape.  It's a nice one but not Rosewood... here is the strange part    It's marked and confirmed to be 58" Amo ?? Ser# is HH9182 [60#@28"]

I never knew Howatt or Martin for that fact, ever made a 58" Hunter??

Has a shorter riser than any Hunter I have ever seen or owned.. Looks more like a High Speed or S-Diablo.  It does have a stablizer insert, and two sets of accent stripes running straight down the riser [ no curves] Wish I could post pics as I know that would help  :knothead:   Sorry!

Any help with this one would be great... I'm guessing it's a 69  :wavey:    :coffee:

Not an expert but I think the hi-speeds were marked HH and are generally a shorter bow.

I own a 58" Howatt Hunter made in 1976.I was told they only made them from 75/76 to 80.I used it till about 2000 then sent it to bowdoc to be refinished it was 55@28" and kill quite a few deer.Mine has the straight red tan strip also .Right now whip has it to take a few lbs. off and I will take it out of retirement.Kip
